DBA, Indonesia was initiated in 1984 as cooperation between Christian D’Auchamp, Commercial Attaché at the Danish Embassy during those days and Tom Soerensen, General Manager for SAS and Thai Air during that time.

The first meeting was held as a lunch for Danish business people at the Hilton Hotel in Jakarta and ever since having lunch and dinner meetings have been popular traditions.

From the start there was no board etc., sometimes it is easier to build something, if decisions are made by few people, but later normal traditions of organizations with board members etc. was established.

DBA has had a long tradition ever since of working closely together with the Danish Embassy.

Up until a few years ago the DBA have been going strong with frequent meetings and other arrangements, but some of the key persons behind the organization left at the same time and the activity level at the DBA decreased to an absolute minimum.

Since 2007 a few Danish business people currently located in Indonesia with help from the Danish Embassy have tried to revive the DBA, Indonesia traditions.
